In this case :
PRT is Power Recovery Turbine on a R-3350 engine each three cylinders
exhaust was directed to a PRT which had a Quill shaft that connected to
the crankshaft and help reecover power to the engine,

FTAS was Flying Tiger Air Service a branch of the main airline.

KNIAS was a Typo it should read KIAS.

BMEP correlates directly to the horsepower that the engine is producing
and was the determining factor that caused an engine to auto feather on
Take off if the BMEP dropped below a set value for so many seconds like
2 or 3 if the system was armed. The pucker factor gets very hi out of
like Tachikawa in Japan taking off over the Buddhist Temple at the South
end of the runway, I have flown through my share of tall flag waving
bamboo poles. When they got hit the Japs had replacements on hand.
Makes a hell of a racket hitting the plane. Never had any holes but
dents in the skin.
