i bought a copy of "Mil Spec Radio Gear" and it is really great.
Even though i don't own 90% of the gear in it, reading it was like revisiting
Sam's Surplus or Harjo's Surplus in LA in the 50's
i only have a few ARC5's, PRC-6 and BC-611's now but i enjoyed Mark's down to
earth writing style.
i wish i still had my old 1948 Surplus Radio Conversion Manuals.
It doesn't have complete schematics for all the equipment in it but it has
the major tune and repair data as well as the sources for the TM's.
He has documented the current equipment sources and has a good
introduction to operating Pedestrian Mobile.
Maybe if you send him your favorite piece of gear he will put it into Volume
2.
i hope he does a UK version for Her Majesty the Queen.
i got to operate and repair an APS-2 and an APS-4 radar, SCR-522, BC-610 and
an MAR in youth. What a great time !
