That's the 75 mcs marker beacon tx.  Today most
airfields just use an inner & outer marker.  Middle
markers were there too in pre glide-slope days.

I betcha BC-400s were never surplussed and instead
sent to every consenting patch around.

Never heard of one in surplus.

However their rf guts, the TU-75, came outa Wright-Pat in huge
#s in mid-50s.  Those 'guts' were the TU-75 that used
3 ea. 815s to get out @ 75 mcs (TU-75... get it?)

And that's why there were a blue million 815s in surplus.

I had an avionics guy tell me that there were several BC-400s
still running around the state in the late eighties.  I wonder.
