I'd be quite skeptical about books written on such subjects, even with the passage of time and the declassification of records. In addition to the expected 'fog of war' there was a lot of purposeful deception to cover up the Enigma decrypts. Detection of LO radiation, and IR detection come to mind.  I somehow doubt we will ever know the full, accurate story.
