Knots ARE speed; i.e. Nautical Miles per Hour.

Nautical mile is 6075 (plus a fraction) feet. It
is frequently rounded off to 6080 feet. That
is what USAF used in Navigator School and
Electronic Warfare Officer School back in 1961
when I went through them.

Maybe Nautical Miles, about 6000 feet?
I don't think "Knots" is speed, but distance.

Of course, I could be lying.
