Rick,
The official DOD sanctioned name for the connector is "Ugly Plug".
Seriously, the connector itself is SO-94. The cover and mounting brackets
have Signal Corps drawing numbers that I didn't bother to try to look up.
If you have another BC-342 that you need the Ugly Plug assembly for in
addition to the BC-342-N with Jones plug installed that you just got, then you need
two Ugly Plugs. It doesn't matter how good of a job the butcher did, the
Jones plug was never installed on a BC-342 while in government service. Some ham
was just too lazy or too stupid to track down a PL-114.
Scott, I have a stack of BC-3xx most of which still have the output
transformer. Most also still have the triple .05 capacitors although some may be good
and some will need rebuilding. But you'll have to specify which C numbers you
need, as they don't all mount the same. FWIW, the .047 ufd 630 VDC
metallized polyester capacitors that Fair have been selling recently are perfect fits
for rebuilding.
And I also need several RA-20 bottom covers. Don't know why so many are
missing. You do NOT want to slide a BC-342 or BC-344 into its case without the
bottom cover on the RA-20.
