This works pretty well, but I found it to be fairly time consuming,
especially if you want to include some sort of shielding. Still, if
you can get hose that is not marked up on the side, it really does
look and act like the real stuff.

Wide rubber hose that has fairly thin walls is sometimes hard to get,
but it is still manufactured - just a bit of a specialty item not
found in your local hardware or car parts store.
