Mark and Meir,
I haven't opened up and looked at the cordage in the set of cables with my
SCR-245 but there's no good reason why there would need to be more than two
moderately heavy conductors for the filament and relay supply to the radios and
the dynamotor supply to the DM-17 or -21 in the BC-312. The rest of the stuff
is audio, control and HV. In looking for substitute cordage, just remember the
rule of thumb for AWG wire sizes. For the effective size of two in parallel,
subtract three gauge numbers. So for example two #16 is #13 (the odd number
sizes were defined, just seldom built). Four #16 is #10 (two #13). Close
enough.
