I agree, Ken. When I got my first old Genny decades back, it had mag
problems that I fixed with friction tape (insulation had apparently
broken down), and then was leaking fuel out the bottom of the pump
when running. Someone had tried to fix a torn diaphragm with silicon
sealer, no joy. Turns out the diaphragm crossed with one used in an
old Chevy or Dodge and I was able to pick up 2 spares from an old car
nut.
Seems like the condenser should cross with something else, at least as
a compatible replacement. Moreso back then, the same parts were often
used in multiple applications. Farm store or maybe a good ol'
fashioned auto parts store if there's a number on the condenser. Pep
Boys, not likely.
