There were several models of the Mallory Vibrapack which used those 
synchronous (self rectifying) vibrators.  Any indication of who the 
manufacturer of that particular batch was?  Unusual that they still 
start because most succumbed to sulfur contamination of the contact 
surfaces from the rubber inside.  I'm curious if some manufacturer 
finally tumbled to the problem and used a compatible elastomer 
instead of the rubber?  Which wasn't really a problem in their day, 
as they rarely lasted long enough for that to become a problem.  Only 
now, 50 years after they became obsolete--------.
