The ARR-2 receiver was used during an after WWII for Navy aircraft to home
in on their carriers. There were some that were used with land based
bombers as well. The transmitter operated in the 238 to 254 MHz range and
was modulated with subcarrier between 540-830 kHz. Each receiver could
select six different subcarrier frequencies. The X version of the receiver
operates from 14V whereas the non-X version operates from 28V. The IF is
200 kHz. And, there is a BFO.

Does this help?
