   WWII  "portable"  gear  includes  such  creampuffs  as the 250 lb. TBW
   transmitter system and the associated 170 lb. generator, alongside the
   associated 150  lb. RBM receiver system and auxillaries, and who knows
   how  much for  the fairly  eleborate antenna system, batteries for the
   receivers,  and  spares!   All resulting in a 100 watt CW / 25 watt AM
   station.

   It  sure  makes  one  appreciate modern solid state HF gear and CW/SSB
   when  one  actually  wants to put out a decent signal from the boonies
   now-a-days.
