The BC-722 control box connects to the socket on the bottom
of the BC-721, a version of the BC-611 which was designed to
be snapped into a mount in a glider. The glider pilot used the radio
to talk to his tow plane and/or others. After landing (or more
typically, crashing), the radio was removed from the mount,
disconnected from the BC-722 and external wire antenna
and used like a BC-611.
My BC-722 has the mounting bracket to connect it to the frame tubing of the
glider
(can't let your brag about those RBM legs go unanswered ;-).
