Some of these show up at any good-size hamfest, usually at discount prices. That's where I got my USN T-47 with O-16 oscillator for $200. I didn't have to worry about shipping either. It's been three years since I last attended Dayton, but I can't recall any of the seven Hamventions that I've attended where there weren't a good selection of ATC/ART-13 sets. I'll always regret not picking up a real ATC with the original and rare MT-161 mounts that I saw there ten years ago.

I found my real pride, a USAAF T-47A, at a local electronic junk store, for $50.

Then, there's always ebay, where they show up regularly in various states of originality. Shipping can be problematic.

I'd say if you have a choice and aren't trying to recreate an AN/ARC-25 or ATC/ARB or other USN combo, then pick the USAAF T-47A over the USN T-47 or ATC. The T-47A will have an interlock switch S-117 on the left side that will drop out the dynamotor control power when the top lid is removed. More importantly, HF VFO dial B will have a frequency vernier scale atop the dial scale that allows the dial to be set in one-tenth division increments. For this reason, the calibration tables for the T-47A are in 1 kc increments from 2000 to 18100 kc. Lacking this vernier, the USN T-47 or ATC has calibration tables that start out at 1 kc intervals at 2000 kc, and progressively increase to 10 kc intervals at 18100 kc.

The trick will be finding a LF/MF RBM that's an RBM-3 and not some other contract model. A purist would also want the serial numbers of all the major components of an RBM-x to match. Physically, they'll all be identical regardless.

Isn't the CFI used with the RBM just one of the many versions of the LM frequency meter? Sources are the same as described for the ART-13 above.
