I don't currently collect TBW or RBM but I'm going to have to take exception 
with all of the responses to Ken's post.  I don't know why everyone says the 
I.F. transmitter is worthless.  Aside from the fact that rumours still 
circulate that we may eventually get (transmitting) access to the region around 500 
KC, so what if it doesn't cover any ham bands.  Neither does the BC-453, and it 
covers about the same range as the 52238.  Neither do IFF transponders, 
gunfire or blind bombing control radars, glide slope receivers or radio altimeters.  
But a bunch of people on this list collect one or more of those items.  So 
anyway, if all you want to do is get on and jabber, go buy a rice box.  :-)

FWIW, I have an H.F. transmitter (marked TBW-4) and Modulator/Rectifier, and 
some of the connectors, if anyone has been thinking of trying to "do" a TBW.
