  What I was referring to was typically called a "Radiophone Unit" or
something similar.

  We called those 'RSCs', radio set controls and yes they were all connected
to the comm gear through the TX and RX switchboards in Radio Central. The
thing I mistakenly thought of was the little 'interphone amp' with its own
dynamotor that was used for installations in things like the DUKW and
Alligator. I have one of the RSCs that was made for ther SRT series
transmitters but it follows Robert's descripton.
