And to the critical ear, the CW emitted by a stock TCS has a
very subtle "clang" note that arises from the antenna relay
vibrating the case causing a slight FMing of the Master Osc
on the "make" (not on the break).

(This can be heard only on strong signals, of course)

A TCS "signature" for sure!

Just down next to the rig, plug in your J-36 bug, and let fly with a
string of VVV  at 15 - 20 WPM or so!!!   <<grin>>

I LOVE that machine gun sound.
