>> But the TCS was not "very slow speed and poor CW." It will do 25 wpm
and more with a bug and still not show any evident shortening of
characters, and most all have hard, but chirpless, keying. The only
thing lacking was/is a sidetone.

Gotta agree with MOST of that Perry.

Running my TCS with a bug, it'll handle 20-25 WPM quite nicely, even tho
the relays sound like they're chewing themselves to bits! <<grin>>

HOWEVER... as far as chirp is concerned...

On 160 and 80, you couldn't ask for a better note; stable, if a bit hard
in terms of keying make and break.

On 40, things begin to get a bit wobbly re. chirp, but STILL an acceptable
signal.

The one and only time I used the rig on 30 meters, I answered the CQ of a
Cuban station... he had TERRIBLE chirp and clicks, and had the nerve to
comment on the chirp of MY signal! Talk about the Pot commenting on the
incipient negritude of the Kettle! <<smile>> After a 583 signal report,
I decided that the TCS, as it stands, wasn't going to be my 30 meter rig;
I had to admit he was RIGHT... on 30 meters my TCS is about as stable as
a 500 foot tower made of 2" x 4"s!
