[Milsurplus] Wanted R-392 Info R-808?

The manual has the info for the M38 Jeep installation. One big radio set
with two RXs, modulator, TX and supplies!!  From Bro' David Stinson I got
the word that the Marines let the sets go because of mechanical instability.
>From David's recomendations I cleaned and reseated the modules in the R808
and found it an OK receiver. I've never seen the CONOPS for the
GRC-14/MRC-55 but because of the configuration, one RX channel and one TX/RX
channel, I'd guess it was to be used by the ashore element as a duplex RTTY
link with afloat forces and an RX only link for Naval Broadcast. From what
I've heard in the BoatAnchor rumor chain most of the GRC-14/MRC-55s were
surplussed in Georgia and NC.
