[Milsurplus] Dynamotor

I have come across this Pioneer dynamotor, Type
SP-175.
  Input is 18 volts D.C., output 450 volts @ 0.06
amps. 
  It is mounted in a Bendix MN-26L. The original
dynamotor would have 
been
  14 or 28v input, and 230v output. The only thing I
can think of is 
that this radio
  has been running on 12-14v input (looks like the
filament resistors 
are strapped for 12v), thus with reduced dynamotor
H.T. output.
  I don't want to run it in case of over-voltage on
the caps. I am 
wonderring if it's
  an 'amateur' fit, or depot; maybe they didn't have
the correct 
dynamotor at the time!
