The USAF KC-135's still have an ARN-32 marker beacon receiver installed, 
which is powered up whenever aircraft power is applied.  I have seen 
receivers with all original tubes (judging by the date codes) , these are 
subminiature types, probably with a minimum of 40,000 hours of operation on 
them.  In 24 years, I have only replaced one of these tubes, a 6021.  They 
are indeed reliable!
