Weighing in on the Navy receivers thread,

First. My RAS-2 saw use at the
Naval Ammunition Depot, Hawthorne, NV. A friend
of mine found it at the local landfill (early 60s
time frame), and I wound up with
it. When I worked at the place in the late 60s, I found
the drawings showing the installation of it and a
transmitter(can't remember what type) in the admin building
in the 40s. Also found the drawings showing the installation
of an R-390 in the 50s. I didn't think of making copies to
take home with me. (IF I could only go back......)
I didn't get the speaker or frame though :-(
Used the receiver with a DX-40 as my novice station
circa 65-66, and also did quite a bit of BCB dxing with it,
as well as listening to the LA police station just below 160 meters.

Second, I have a very nice RBL-5 that really belongs
on a restored ship. If someone will provide the transportation
I'd gladly donate it. (It is not for trade or sale).

Third, I have a not so nice RAO-something, that sort of works, and
needs cosmetic help, if anyone wants, they can come get it. (Reno, NV).
(But only if it is for their use and enjoyment, not to wind up
on an auction site or take up space at a swapmeet).
