The RAS has a 175kc IF unlike the HRO-M with 450s (500s?) It has
plug-in  coils that take it thru the 190-550 MF 'beacon band'  And
below for sub alexandersons(?).  None of it's coils will work with
the civvy HROs

Bill Fizzette, an AWA National historian, says it was a special Navy spin
on the HRO and in no way civilian in nature.  Little else I can remember.

Has big-pin tubes & looks concurrent with RAK/L production.  It sorta
seems a DC-to-daylight rx attempt in a single package destined
for any appropriate install.

I've used one here in several old-time operating events & can tell you that
even on 40, the image bugs are glaring.... like getting CHU Canada right
below where 40 starts.

That same complete, reliably running  RAS-5 is still here with EVERY
accessory.   All ID plates original & intact.  Anyone here interested
in adoption?
