Back in 2003, someone (don't remember who) scanned some
graphics from a WW-II era Navy radioman's training series.
They documented the radios (and their antennas) typically
installed in a "large destroyer," with the disclaimer
that installations varied widely, especially in older
ships that had been refitted.
Here's a chart of the information:
Receivers, Main Radio Room:
RAK-RAL, RBA-RBB-RBC, RBO, RCK, TBS
Transmitters, Main Radio Room:
TAJ, TBS, TBK, TDQ
Receivers, Emergency Radio Room:
RAK-RAL
Transmitters, Emergency Radio Room:
TBL with modulator and speech amp.
Receivers, CIC:
TCS, MN, RBH
Transmitters, CIC:
TCS, MN
Receiver and transmitter, Pilot House:
MAN
The TBL, TBS and TDQ transmitters and
respective receivers in use with them were
remoted to both CIC and the Pilot House
using a "NAVY STANDARD" (whatever that is)
telephone remote.
Somewhere in my docs I have a photo of how these
were layed-out in Main Radio. I'll see if
I can find it.
