Thanks George... that sounds very sensible.  I found it packed away with 
a couple of old railroad receivers I've had for years, always intending 
to do something with them.  Hopefully, I'll be able to find some kind of 
documentation somewhere.  It's in need of a good cleaning and I'm sure 
the caps are dried out, but it may be that the old girl can come back to 
life with a little coaxing.  I appreciate your insight.
