The idea is truly outrageous.
The book on German radios ( i cited earlier ) has some 
photos of  French-owned, splendidly restored German 
armored cars. I doubt that public ownership would have
taken on such a finely detailed task, or maintained them 
in such perfect condition.
Liberty is an uncommon flower in the world, isn't it?
Not every country is up to it, even if you knock off
