I was out to the Radio Observatory quite a few
years back. They had some specific displays
giving tribute to Reber as the "father" of radio
astronomy.

Also, several of our local moonbounce gurus got
permission to use one of the "medium" dishes there on
a moonbounce "dxpedition" several years back. One
(K5JL) was trustee of our club's repeater for many
years. He showed slides at a club meeting of their
operation. I believe they had an STA and ran about
3 kW output with who knows how much gain from the
dish!!!!

Hi Dan:

Actually, I thought that her callsign was the one that
Reber (s) the guy who made the first radio telescope had.
Maybe I am wrong...memory can't dredge up his first name
and maybe I have the last name wrong, too. Anyway, I was
told that they used his call as a tribute to his early
work in radio astronomy.

A good friend of mine Paul Harden, NA5N, was Jodie's
"geek coach" for her techno-babble during the movie.
According to him she was rather personable.
