Wow. If the images are that bad at 7 Mcs., it must really be a wonder up
near 30 Mcs. Kinda like one of those APR / SPR radar search receivers,
who cares about images!
Now re shipboard use, i think there would be no problem on ships with
no big guns. I was recently quick reading some in WW2 Navy fellow's
memoirs and he describes the terrific pounding that the guns gave the
crew members. It's hard to exagerate how bad this was. But on some
patrol vessel or communications ship there probably wouldn't have
been any problem
The RAS was one of the very first milsurplus equipments i ever saw
over 4 decades ago, and even then i thought it looking ancient and
mysterious. The fellow's dad had gotten it somehow via MARS, i am
sure. Your offer is very tempting but i already have enuff HRO's !
