[Milsurplus] Movie Rig Alert!

Howdy!

It may not be surplus, but it IS Glowbug.

I was channel surfing a few days ago, and bumped into THE
BOYS FROM BRAZIL. On a table behind Dr. Mengele (Gregory
Peck) I was surprised to catch a glimpse of a Knight Kit 
T-60 transmitter; no receiver, just the transmitter! No 
idea what it was supposed to be, other than set dressing.


In another picture today, FAT MAN AND LITTLE BOY, surplus
rigs abound.

In one sequence a BC-603 receiver (wideband FM rig used in 
tanks) is apparently a "field telephone"! The Los Alamos
laboratories look like a 1960's hamfest; tons of old,
nondescript HP, General Radio, and other stuff all over the
place.

Hmmm...  1960s hamfest...   maybe now we know where set
dressers save a few bucks...    ;o)
