Ray,

Your mod sounds FB to me.   Take it that you're still going to key the B+ to 
the PA, otherwise you'll have to add some protective bias to the 803 grid too.

Don't imagine the services were much concerned with clicks and chirps during 
WW2.   Haven't fired up my TBWs yet, but the GP-7 running on 800 cps doesn't 
just chirp, it WHOOPS!    Other rigs of the period such as the BC-375 and 191 
have a "distinctive" sound as well.
