[Milsurplus] Need PU669 Diesel Generator info

Does anyone have any information on converting the PU669 diesel generator?
I acquired one with 6 hours on it and was told that the current owner was
instructed to change the crankshaft bearings before running it or it would
freeze up before 10 hours.  This seems extreme for a military piece of
equipment.  Someone else said they had fuel problems.

This generator has been sitting outside unprotected for over 10 years so may
not be real great but I would like to try to get it going.

So can anyone shed light on this and possibly point me to the info I need to
get this thing running reliably?
