I just finished fixing up a BC-348-R and am wondering about some of
the letters and numbers on the front.
The ID plate on the lower right side reads:
1068 CDL
11414-WF 43
There is an orange marking on the front that reads:
SC
3059
A
What does that all mean?
I bought this radio last week and it was a mess: no tubes, cut-off
power cord to the home-brew power supply, and stored semi-outdoors.
Surprisingly, it came together quickly and performs very well. The sound,
run through an LS-3 speaker, is excellent. The home-brew power supply was
done well. Yes, the stories about Micramolds are true. There are only two
kinds: those that have already failed and those that are about to fail.
Thanks.
