Remember when CB required a real license, and a real
call sign? They even had interim call signs build around
your ZIP code. Then, it all faded away, and CB became
what is is now. Even truckers don't use CB as much
any more. Perhaps ham radio will just fade away. When
I was in USAF Plans & Programs, a very long time ago, the
Doctrine said that ham radio, in just about every country
in the world, was used to hold bands of frequencies which
would be available for their national defense.
Sic Transit Mundi(?).
