My favorite receiver is the National NC-57 The NC-57 is best is
in the same class as the Hallicrafters S-40. It is the best receiver in this
class. It has separate coils for each band in the RF and converter sections.
The coils are high Q being wound on the XR-50 forms.
The IF transformers have larger than normal tuning caps, being 510p.
This lowers the non-loaded impedance which when loaded by the tube, results
in a higher operating Q.
Slightly better in all areas.
