Subject: [Milsurplus] BC-348 Finish - Paint question

John...I use a USA pressure pack wrinkle finish marketed under name of VHT and available
from auto accessory stores - at least here in OZ.
You don't need primer. But you do need a oven (kitchen ). I spray evenly but not
thickly--- heavy coats make for heavy wrinkle.
Bake for an hour or so at around 200 F.
With raised lettering such as in BC-348, only neat way is to paint the panel, bake it and
within a day or so be prepared to conserve your patience and GENTLY, take to the
lettering with a sharpish blade/Exacto tool, and CAREFULLY scrape the paint off the
letters.
They look like just come off the production line-- I've done about 15 over last few
years

VHT is manufactured for PJH BRANDS, Scottsdale AZ 85258... Label on can says Wrinkle Plus
coating SP -201-A

Cheers
Pete

Group -

1. What paint brand suggested to get the same nice wrinkle tex finish?
Paint Primer suggested for aluminum? Primer color - flat black, clear?
     Any application methods?

2. Method to keep paint off, sticking to, the raised letters?

Thanks
Hutch
