Well, OK.....   Appreciate the sentiment here and the need for front panel 
protection in military situations.   Nevertheless, operating the 1306 and GRC-9 
through the grills is a pain.   I use my GRC-9s regularly sans grills but do 
keep the latter safely preserved for posterity.   Kinda falls in the same 
category of putting in a jumper to keep the 2E22 lit up.

Each to his own, though.
