It might have been a "political pay-back contract", but I am damned glad it was let 'cuz I absolutely LOVE my GRR-5!!

I have it sitting in a corner of my living room and it is always the center of attention and a great conversation starter when guests arrive. Besides it looks cool! However, I am running out of room....the GRR-5, PRC-74Bravo (sitting on its PP-4415 PSU/Chgr), TRC-77Alpha and LS-166 on top of that, the PRC-64 and manual MFJ balanced line tuner sits beside the 74B/77A....the Beautiful and Talented Patricia (my wife and fellow ham, KB3MCT) drew the line at putting sand bags in the living room. I think it would be cool but can't get her on board.

Now, where am I gonna put that "Ma Duce" .50 cal??

He wrote on it in ER and without pause sed it was a political pay-back
contract. GRR-5 had no purpose.

Sig corps laughingly called it the "new gas receiver."
