Thought I'd toss my hat in the ring on the subject insofar as  
pointing out the differences a few decades makes in capacitor  
construction and the differences in chemistry and materials that made  
it possible.  As George says, just a few years makes a difference.

I took a photo of two 10 microfarad at 25 volt capacitors

One was dated 1954, the other was recently purchased.
