They also open the audio output buss (thru the xmtr relay)
A cheap "sidetone" mod (reversible) is to short the audio buss
interrupt, and add a "selected" dropping resistor (for desired gain)
across the RX SG/B+ lines at the receiver power socket. Helps CW
greatly, but not recommended if you run AM exclusively. (you have to
crank down the RFG pot when going to xmit, and vice versa.)
