Do replace the selenium and copper oxide rectifiers with silicon.  The 
big ones mounted under the receiver can be left in place and silicon put 
into the power supply.  Also you MUST replace all the buffer capacitors. 
  Buffer capacitors are the most fallible parts in a vibrator power 
supply, and when they fail (shorted) the vibrator contacts will 
catastrophically fuse together.
