I don't know about the R-390. . . but we had alert crews that would sleep 
next to those large Big Ben alarm clocks that glowed in the dark.  Just 
about all of the crew members  had the numbers 1-12 outlined  on their faces 
after about one year of alert . I wouldnt stare at the R-390 meters too 
much.
