There's still a lot of arrogance in the aircraft restoration community.
The technology that made that aircraft work is just as important as
the skin of the thing, but most of them refuse to acknowledge that.
As for me: A B-17 with faked-up radios is a Cessna with a fancy skin.
I've offered to *give* some of these guys the correct equipment and
even help get it right, only to be treated with condescendtion or worse.

It's good that the mil vehicle community as a whole is beginning to
wake up to the technology, and some outfits will not issue awards
to entrants with faked-up technology.  I still think we should "buy-in"
to this trend and help it gain momentum.
