[Milsurplus] MAK vs MO

Was looking at the MAK / MO manual recently and i saw
that the MAK tunes 2 - 4 Mcs. while the revision, 
renomenclatured, tunes 3 - 8 Mcs.  I was thinking the Navy
gave up the "harbor channels"  ( 2-3 Mcs. ) in favor of more
of the "combat frequencies", perhaps in preparation for
Pacific island operations.
( This is a 50 watt AM / MCW trans-receiver, xtal controlled,
in a package maybe 3/4 size of BC-348 package.  I don't know
how many or if any were actually used. )
