To those who asked:
I stole the beehive-shaped insulator from an MP-68(If I remember right) and
mounted it in an angle bracket on the side of my station wagon. A right
angle coax connector attaches via a double male to a bulkhead connector
that goes through the side of the car, which stiffens the angle bracket.
The mast sections are AB-21/GR x 3, plus 3 more smaller sections for about
10 feet or about 12 feet total height so I rarely have to take it down to
make it under obstacles.
Robert Downs pointed out that MP-65 is sprung to get under obstacles.
I'm sure an extra 5 feet would help a lot on the lower frequencies.
If I ever get to the point that I can afford to keep a play vehicle around,
an MZ would be fun.
