You would think that someone has texts from pilot or navigator's
schools.   The only way I ever saw the APN-1 used was when it
was used with the telescope drift meter, and about every aircraft
I ever saw had one.  Breck has some info on the APN-1, but it
doesn't say how the set was used.  We had specific altitudes to
come over the beacons on approach, but that was cross check, not
primary input.  I suppose they could be used to verify inverted
flight in a snow storm.  Just roll the aircraft for minimum indication
on the guage.  Hi.
