If anything, they made the stuff look so good and built it so well
that people perhaps expected miracles. But side-by-side tests that
many have done with the early GPR receivers would indicate that their
performance, while adequate, didn't exceed or even meet some of the
other products on the market at the time. I'm no TMC expert, so I
can't comment beyond those few I've had personal communications with.
TMC made some very high-quality gear that worked as good (or better)
than it looked, like their single frequency receivers, the CV-series
sideband adapters, the VOX series, GPT-750 and so on. The GPR-92 is
supposed to be a pretty hot receiver from all I've heard. Never seen
one myself, but I'd sure like the chance to verify it!
