[Milsurplus] Navy 800-1 800 Cycle inverter

I have two of 'em, and that's a good price.  All the ones I have seen 
are pretty shopworn, admittedly better than that one, and all spun-up 
fine.  Ear plugs is a very good idea - it's about the same as a subway 
train running through the shack. (91 dB)  I built a 3/4 inch thick 
plywood box lined with 2 inch thick fiberglass, and that knocked it down 
to 50 dB, which is very tolerable, merely a distant whine.  You also 
need ducts, about two feet long, also lined with 2 inch thick 
fiberglass, for the air intake and exhaust.  That thing throws off lots 
of heat, and without good forced ventilation it will soon fry.  I have a 
squirrel cage fan inside, and now need a booster fan on the intake 
because it's still a 15 degree F rise in there.  Not bad in Winter, but 
bad in Summer.  Now that it's quiet in the shack, I can hear the 
transformers in the power supply singing.
