The GRC-13 is the replacement for the Navy TBX. It's similar in tube
line-up and power output to the GRC-9, except it has 10 crystal controlled
channels instead of a VFO. It was made by RCA. The power supply options
are similar in principle to the GRC-9 but with different connectors.
It was a short-lived issue and most likely the Marine Corps replaced it
with the GRC-9.
I got my GRC-13 about 8 years ago and so far I have been unable to find a
manual or just a schematic diagram with the power connector pinout so I
can put it on the air.
There was a write-up on the GRC-13 in Electric Radio a few years ago (I
don't remember the issue, but searcheable in the ER index) by someone from
California, who owned a full GRC-13 set, with the shipping crate,
accessories, PSU, cables, antennas, etc., as issued.
These two GRC-13's are the only such sets I know of in "captivity"...
Maybe your buddy is willing to sell his manual or at least make a copy?
it'll really help me out...
