I heard a telephone interview on PBS with a woman in the French
Quarter, Bourbon Street, who, with about 18 other people, were staying
and did not plan to leave.

She said that they were taking care of one another, and were not
relying on the police for protection.

She also told the interviewer that some police officers had come by,
taken several of them to one of the larger supermarkets and told them
to "...take what you need...". One of the officers also said something
like as long as it isn't a Game Boy or TV set, you aren't looting.

I thought it was nice that someone was using some common sense.

What really pissed me off was those several people shooting at the
contractors on a bridge. I thought it was nice that about 8 of those scum
got killed by the cops.
