It is fine that the beloved USS Alabama and USS Drum cam through with such
great colors. But what happened to the write-up on the other WW2 ship at
Mobile. The LST-325. She remained afloat with all lines slacked to take
on 8-10 feet of water. Dewey Taylor and CBM Bruce Vogle rode out the
hurricane and kept here same. Next step to travel up the Mississippi to
the Ohio and to its new home
fresh water port in Evansville. Mobile missed the ball by not keeping the
LST here to join Alabama and Drum which are landlocked displayed to have a
sailing display of a WW2 ship to ply the seas once again. Going to fresh
water should prolong the LST's live for another 60 or more years. Maybe
LST-325 ca call back to Mobile in your to come on its way on one of tis
summer trips.
